The Croatian Association of Criminal Sciences and Practice will organise the international conference on the European Public Prosecutor's Office, institution in the European Union since its beginning (www.pravo.unizg.hr/ieppo).
The conference entitled Integration of the EPPO in the National Criminal Justice Systems: Institutional, Procedural and Cooperative Challenges, is to be held from 11-12 April 2019 at the Westin Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia.

The conference explores the issues of the European Public Prosecutor Office and its introduction into national systems. Therefore, it primarily aims at public prosecutors and the legislator, as well as all other practitioners and members of the academic community. The purpose of the conference is to gather, apart from national experts, a great number of experts coming from European institutions (the European Commission, OLAF, EUROJUST, EUROPOL, the European Parliament), foreign competent bodies/authorities such as the ministries of justice, European judiciary workers and the most eminent European professors of European criminal law.

For Croatia, the special significance of the conference lies in the fact that the Republic of Croatia is going to chair the EU in the first half of 2020. Therefore, the conference presents an opportunity for Croatia to present itself as the future presidency of EU, equal to its EU peers on professional, scientific and organisational levels.

The conference was funded by the EU HERCULE III Programme, and co-financed by the the Croatian Science Foundation, through the project 8282 entitled Croatian Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters in the EU and the Region (CroCoCrim): Heritage of the Past and Challenges of the Future, the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Croatia.
